Frequently Asked Questions

What is linseed soap, and how does it differ from regular soap?

Linseed soap is richer than regular soap but at the same time sharper, with a higher pH value. This makes it unbeatable at dissolving grease and dirt.

Why choose Linseed oil soap from Ovolin?

Our linseed oil soap is appreciated for its high quality and excellent cleaning ability. Many customers say they prefer our soap over others, as others often feel diluted and weak in comparison. With Ovolin's linseed oil soap, you get powerful and reliable cleaning every time.

What sizes are available and do you offer refills?

The linseed oil soap is available in four sizes. The two smallest (0.5 L and 1 L) can be purchased both with and without a pump cap. In our store in Karlslund, Örebro, we also offer refills for your own container – a sustainable and cost-effective option with a 10% discount.

What can linseed oil soap be used for?

Linseed oil soap is versatile and can be used for many things:

  • In the kitchen: sink, tiles, oven, refrigerator, etc.
  • In the bathroom: tiles, porcelain, toilet, shower areas.
  • On floors: wooden floors, ceramic tiles, stone, and vinyl flooring.
  • In the washing machine: about 100 ml per wash. Also suitable for wool laundry.
  • For rag rugs and dirty work or children's clothes: soak overnight in a 50/50 mix of soap and water, then wash as usual.
  • For oily hands and brush cleaning.
  • Outdoors: e.g., gravestones, decking, stair railings, grills, and cars.
How do you use linseed soap to treat wooden floors?

Soap scrubbing is a natural way to treat wooden floors:

  1. Mix 4–5 dl of linseed soap in 10 liters of cold water.
  2. Scrub in the direction of the wood grain. It will foam.
  3. Wipe afterwards with a cloth.
  4. If the floor is dirty, rinse with cold water.
  5. For new treatment: repeat the process three times.

Important: Avoid spilling pure soap directly on a dry floor, as it can cause stains. It’s a good idea to wet the surface with water before you start.
