The big book on building maintenance
This book is very inspirational, with educational pictures of everything to do with an old house. Actually completely in class with my old favorite "This is how farmhouses and farms are renovated".
Back text: The renovation boom of recent years has inspired many to roll up their sleeves and start working on their own house or apartment. The need for smart advice and information has increased in line with the newly awakened interest in building maintenance. The big book on building maintenance is therefore a long-awaited bible for everyone who loves old houses. Building antiquarian Göran Gudmundsson writes expertly and passionately about interior and exterior renovation. Here you get answers to everything you need to know, from foundation to chimney. And help to think. Both in terms of building technology and materials, but also how you solve requirements for kitchens and bathrooms without the genuine feeling being destroyed. In the Big book on building maintenance, you can read about tradition, period materials and why our old houses actually look the way they do, mixed with recipes for classic colors, tips on how to paint, prepare tiled stoves, scrub floors and renovate windows - plus a lot other practical advice for those who want to try it themselves. Building maintenance has become a modern popular movement with a focus on tradition, quality, environmental awareness, reuse and financial long-termism – values that are just right for the times. Göran Gudmundsson is the driving force behind the Gysinge center for building care, where squatters and royalty meet among spare parts for old houses. His motto is that you should be able to "move in, without the soul moving out". The idea is to gently renovate and recreate the house's original charm and qualities using traditional proven techniques and materials without having to sacrifice modern requirements and comfort. In a unique way, Göran Gudmundsson combines practical information with cultural history and the result can be followed here on 370 pages of text with roughly 500 new color images.
