Painted floors
Back text: There is hardly anything that creates such a magical atmosphere in a room as a painted floor and today many people dream of recreating that tradition in their home. But are there any good role models? And what did the Swedish patterns look like? Was this something just for the mansions? Because the farmers only had shed floors, right? And how should you think if you don't want to end up in a maintenance trap? With this book, Göran Gudmundsson talks about Swedish flooring tradition in general and painted floors in particular. About the colors, about the choices of patterns and about how to maintain your painted floors. Close to 20 old Swedish painted floors are described in text and pictures in this practically laid-out text, from the delicious stone and parquet imitations of the 18th century, to plain floors from the 20th century and the funk era. Color recipes, painting tips and scaled, colored sketches are included. The book is not intended only for those who want to copy an old floor, but also provides so much knowledge about the colors and patterns that you can paint your own personal floor yourself, with inspiration from the old ones. Read! Get inspired! And start painting yourself!
