Ottosson's Järnmönja

Made from Swedish cold-pressed boiled linseed oil and color pigments. Adapted for painting both indoors and outdoors.
Järnmönjan is used as a RUST PROTECTION PAINT. The pigment Hematite is a natural iron oxide that has a structure reminiscent of fish scales and, together with linseed oil, it forms an extremely effective protection against rust attack. Use the color as a base color on iron. Iron two thin layers.
On affected iron, first brush off the loose rust. The surface does not need to be glossy. The iron layer penetrates affected surfaces and prevents further corrosion.
If you then want to paint over the järnmønja with a different colour, it goes well with one of our other linseed oil colours.
Optimum rust protection is achieved if you choose our linseed oil color Graphite, which is a traditional color for iron.
