Shoemaker's lamp
The cobbler's lamp, along with the simple porcelain lampholders, was the first real indoor fixture for electric light.
The model became common as ceiling lighting in all rooms in simpler homes from the 1910s onwards, but in more distinguished environments it became the standard fixture for less lavish rooms, such as halls, kitchens and maids' rooms.
All sheet metal parts are made of strong, polished, unpainted brass. The screen is made of opal glass. A specially made cord reliever in black plastic relieves the cord so that the cord does not bear the entire weight of the fixture. As an extra accessory, for a period-typical connection in the ceiling, there is a porcelain ceiling bracket with a wooden base plate (item no. 3041-64).
Shade of hand-blown opal glass, diameter 20 cm. Lamp holder in untreated brass with ceramic base for E27. Twisted three-pronged (earthed) textile cord 2 m, black, included.
