Stud work is a building technique with a long history and can be found in various forms all over the world. Pole structure constructions can be designed in many different ways. It is possible to create beautiful and spacious buildings and other constructions with only wood-in-wood connections, which are then visible in the construction as beautiful details. It is almost 100 years since a textbook on pole structure construction was last published in Sweden. The book provides an introduction to post work and various drawing traditions, as well as an overview of the most used wooden connections in Sweden. The book contains a large number of work processes where you learn to draw and manufacture various wooden connections using simple methods and tools. The QR codes in the book also provide the opportunity to see instructional videos of the work processes described in the book. At the end of the book there are drawings and descriptions of how to build a pole structure trestle and a 3x5 m pole structure construction using the drawing method which in Swedish can be called the angle system. Welcome to the world of post construction. A construction technology with endless possibilities. ULRIK HJORT LASSEN is a carpenter and craft researcher.
