Holiday cottages in fantastic surroundings

From Ovolin we look out towards Kilsbergskanten, where the Närkeslätten meets the forest and the mountains. In recent years, Örebro municipality has carefully renovated several old deserted farmsteads that have become holiday cottages for the public and also built new holiday cottages with the possibility of overnight stays.

We are happy to have been involved in supplying both paint, fittings and furnishings to several of the cottages. Here you can find both color inspiration and fine building care.

Take the opportunity to visit Gårdsjötorp or the popular Tysslingen bird lake just outside Örebro. On the western side of the lake is the peaceful Svalnässtugan. The cabin is open to the public and works perfectly as a lunch or coffee place. The cabin was built in 2010 and was painted with golden linseed oil paint together with gray mud paint, beautifully combined with nature's own colors.

The rest house at Gårdsjö is a wonderful stop in both winter and summer. In the summer, there is a jetty with a swimming beach right next to the cottage. During the winter, the ski track between Ånnaboda and Tomasboda passes the cottage. Down by the beach there is both a grill and a windbreak. The facade is painted with light Falur red mud paint, window frames and door in 90% golden ocher and 25% green umber on lining.
