Here’s how you do it

Follow Carin as she demonstrates splatter painting with egg oil tempera. She uses a birch twig whisk that has been trimmed more sparsely for a more attractive splatter effect. You can also splatter with blueberry branches or a dish brush. Cover everything thoroughly, especially near the ceiling. Carin splatters with three colors, starting with dark and finishing with light. Holding it closer to the wall produces smaller splatters.

Yes. You need to cover a lot when splattering, especially toward the ceiling. It can be tricky. It may be helpful to have two people, so that one holds a board while the other splatters.

Can I splatter paint on wallpaper?

Egg oil tempera works perfectly well on wallpapered walls. Make sure the wallpaper is firmly attached before you start painting.

Does egg oil tempera smell?

It smells wonderful! A subtle scent of linseed oil (many customers comment on it).

Why do you start with a darker color?

You can splatter with one colour or as many as you like. Three colours is common. Carin starts with a darker colour and finishes with a lighter one, making the surface more vibrant.

Only sample jars are shipped as letters with free shipping. Otherwise, the shipping cost is SEK 69 for orders under SEK 300, SEK 99 for orders between SEK 300 and SEK 2,500, and free shipping for orders over SEK 2,500. Does not apply to bulky items; the additional cost is shown at checkout.

How long does delivery take?

Both sample sheets and regular orders are dispatched within 1–3 days and then delivered within 1–5 days. Customers usually receive their delivery within 5 days.
