Frequently Asked Questions

What is linseed oil soap, and how does it differ from regular soap?
The linseed soap is fattier than regular soap but at the same time sharper, with a higher pH value. This makes it unbeatable at dissolving fat and dirt.
Why choose Linseed Soap from Ovolin?
Our linseed oil soap is appreciated for its high quality and good cleaning ability. Many customers report that they prefer our soap over others, as others are often perceived as diluted and watery in comparison. With Ovolins linseed oil soap, you get a powerful and reliable cleaning – every time.
What sizes are available and do you offer refills?
The linseed oil soap is available in four sizes. The two smallest (0.5 L and 1 L) can be purchased both with and without a pump cap. In our store in Karlslund, Örebro, we also offer refills for your own container – a sustainable and cost-effective option with a 10% discount.
What can linseed oil soap be used for?

Linseed soap is versatile and can be used for many things:

  • In the kitchen: sink, tiles, oven, refrigerator, etc.
  • In the bathroom: tiles, porcelain, toilet, shower areas.
  • On floors: wooden floors, tiles, stone, and vinyl mats.
  • In the washing machine: about 1 dl per wash. Also suitable for wool washing.
  • For rag rugs and dirty work or children's clothes: soak in 50/50 soap and water overnight, then wash as usual.
  • For oily hands and brush cleaning.
  • Outdoors: e.g. gravestones, decking, stair railings, grills, and cars.
How do you use linseed oil soap to treat wooden floors?

Soap scrubbing is a natural way to treat wooden floors:

  1. Mix 4–5 dl of linseed soap in 10 liters of cold water.
  2. Scrub in the direction of the wood. It will lather.
  3. Wipe afterwards with a cloth.
  4. If the floor is dirty, rinse with cold water afterwards.
  5. For re-treatment: repeat the process three times.

Important: Avoid spilling pure soap directly on a dry floor, it can cause stains. Wet the surface with water before you start.
