6 reasons to paint with linseed oil paint before the season ends

(and why plastic paint is more harmful than you think)

Plastic paint traps moisture and peels over time. Linseed oil paint lets the wood breathe and protects it from within. We tint it at our store and paint factory in Örebro. Here are six reasons to get started on your linseed oil paint project.

The season is ending soon

Exterior painting with linseed oil paint requires moderate warmth and dry weather.

When the daily temperature is above 10 degrees and there is no rain, the paint dries properly between coats.

Avoid strong sunlight, rain, and heavy dew. Now that the season is coming to an end, it is important to make the most of the days the weather allows.

  • Preferably above 10°C
  • Dry weather
  • Avoid strong sunlight and dew

The wood can breathe

Plastic paint can form a tight film that traps moisture.

Linseed oil paint is vapor-permeable. Moisture can move in and out of the wood without getting trapped behind the surface. This reduces the risk of cracks, flaking, and rot over time.

The paint does not just sit on top. It soaks in and builds protection from within.

  • Reduces the risk of moisture damage
  • Paint façades, windows, and doors
  • Does not trap moisture inside

No plastic in the paint

Conventional plastic paint causes 58% of microplastics in the oceans.¹

Instead, linseed oil paint is made from linseed oil and natural pigments. No plastic coating to wear away and spread into the environment.

More than just a façade

Most people paint outdoors first: façades, windows, doors.

The same color family is also available for indoor surfaces when you want the same look inside.

Age gracefully

Linseed oil paint creates a vibrant finish that changes gracefully over the years.

When it’s time for a touch-up, a new coat is often all that’s needed. You avoid scraping everything off and starting from scratch.

Facades, windows, and doors get a durable finish that can be maintained.
