Cover cap - Round duroplast

Round cover (scope) in duroplast for a wall socket or switch. Only fits switches and electrical sockets in duroplast, not dimmers, data jacks, telephone jacks, TVs, thermostats, USB and speaker sockets.

White Bakelite was common in the 1930s, 40s and 50s, not least in functionalist environments. Duroplast replaced Bakelite in the modern manufacture of switches during the second half of the 20th century, not least to achieve a truly white color, something that is not possible with Bakelite. Duroplast is, like Bakelite, a thermosetting plastic, with the difference that the duroplast is reinforced with fiber, often cotton fiber for extra strength.
